Why did we choose lithium iron phosphate?

We have chosen to use Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries because in our opinion they are the best choice to remain faithful to our ethics and values which look to the well-being of our customers and the environment.

The LiFePO4 battery is the only one that meets 4 fundamental criteria : safety, durability and performance, technology and eco-compatibility.

LiFePO4 batteries are the safest . Compared to other batteries (NMC or NCA) they resist greater temperatures and stress without incurring the risk of explosion. The lithium iron phosphate batteries have undergone stringent safety tests and will not explode even in road accidents.

They have a longer life cycle ( 2000 charging cycles compared to 300/500 for other batteries) and better performance as they do not lose their efficiency during use. Furthermore, they need a short amount of time to recharge (2.5h).

Lithium iron phosphate technology was developed over 15 years ago. It immediately demonstrated its effectiveness on buses and submarines.

Lithium iron phosphate is the only battery material that is a natural mineral in its chemical composition.

Usually a battery is made up of two electrodes, one of which is made of graphite, while the other is made of a nickel-cobalt compound or a lithium-iron-phosphate compound.

Our batteries contain neither cobalt nor nickel , both of which are considered toxic heavy metals.

We also do not use cobalt for environmental reasons .

We wish to remain faithful to our ethics and values by not purchasing materials from countries in central Africa, such as Congo, where the raw material is extracted under questionable circumstances.

Another advantage of LiFePO4 batteries is their reduced weight thanks to which we are able to create our Powerframes which, compared to other e-bikes on the market, weigh significantly less (starting from 15 kg).
